Here we go again with yet other retail giant windup their doors. The supreme Shoe Pavilion will be windup all its market after 29 years in business. This is getting scary, if not insane. The Shoe Pavilion is known as the largest independent off-price footwear retailer on the West Coast. They will be windup 64 market in California, Washington, Oregon and New Mexico.
As we all struggle to reconcile our budgets and our spending, we also must remember that if we’re not shopping, more retailers will have to close their doors. No, we can’t spend every dime we have, but we can use some discretion. If we all stop spending, there will be dire consequences for the economy. I heard today that there is a potential stimulus advent our way in the future. It’s still in the air, but maybe that will give folks some much needed help. Don’t count on it, because it’s not set in stone. Right now, it’s just an idea that’s being tossed around.
I am very sad that Shoe Pavilion is closing, but the one animated side of this mess is that they will be having a going out of enterprise sale that is supposed to be unbelievable. If you get there before I do, let me know what sort of deals they have. Sometimes retailers will wait until the last miniature to place things at their rock bottom price, so they can get the best price. I am hoping they treat this more like a fire sale and have all priced to go. None of this is good news, because it signals that our economy is in trouble. Heck, my own wallet is in trouble. May day, May day! When will the help come? Oh yes, it’s here to the tune of 0 billion dollars. Hmm, a lot of help it’s doing. Stop crying and go get your shoes.
